1. Who we are and agreeing to these Terms

Curtain Call ("Curtain Call", "we", "us") is made by LOL Studio Inc., Calgary, Alberta, Canada. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and LOL Studio Inc. about the Curtain Call app and curtaincallapp.ai (together, the "App").

By using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App. If we change these Terms we will update the date and ask you to accept again in the App.

2. Who can use Curtain Call (adults 18+)

You must be 18 or older to use Curtain Call. Anyone under 18 cannot have an account: the App checks your age (Apple's declared age range or your birthdate) and refuses to continue.

Curtain Call has four heat levels: Nice, Spicy, Scorched and Naughty. Naughty (adult humour, never explicit sex acts) needs an explicit yes and is offered only when everyone in the photo appears to be 21 or older; if anyone may be under 21, Naughty is off.

Curtain Call is never made about children: if anyone in a photo appears to be under 18, the App refuses the photo and nothing is generated from it.

3. AI-generated content

Roasts, songs, voices, festive photos and videos in Curtain Call are generated by artificial intelligence. They are jokes, not statements of fact, and they do not reflect the views of LOL Studio Inc.

To make them, your photo and text are processed by these providers: xAI (Grok) looks at your photo and writes the roast and carol lyrics; xAI (Grok) for images makes festive photos from your photo (xAI is the only image provider); ElevenLabs turns the text into the host's voice and the song (text only, never your photo); ByteDance Seedance via Higgsfield (or BytePlus) animates photos and makes the singing carol video; fal (MiniMax) makes the singing carol video on the song-first route. Our Privacy Policy lists every provider and what each one receives.

Every generated photo and video is labelled "AI-generated" and carries a Curtain Call watermark. Do not remove or hide the label or watermark, and do not present generated content as real footage.

AI can get things wrong. Despite our safety filters, a result may occasionally be off, unfunny or inappropriate. Please report it (see section 7).

4. Everyone in the photo must agree (your likeness promise)

You may only use a photo if you have the right to use it, every person in it is 18 or older, and every person in it has agreed to be roasted, sung about and animated by AI, and to the result being shared.

When you confirm the crew (for example "Dave, Priya and Sam are 18 or older and agreed to be in a Curtain Call video"), you promise that this is true for every person pictured. We keep a record of that confirmation (what was attested, when, and for which photo). That consent record is kept for 1 year and then deleted (longer only while an open report about that content needs it as evidence).

Whatever you attest, the App applies its own rules to every face: if anyone appears to be under 18, the photo is refused; if anyone appears to be under 21, the show stays playful.

You are responsible for the photos, names and "roast fuel" you enter. You agree to indemnify LOL Studio Inc. against claims by anyone pictured or named who did not agree, to the extent permitted by law.

5. Acceptable use

Curtain Call is for playful roasts among people who are in on the joke. You agree NOT to:

• upload a photo of anyone under 18;

• use photos of people who have not agreed, including strangers, public figures or celebrities;

• harass, bully, threaten, shame or humiliate anyone, or target someone for who they are (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexuality, disability, health, body or age);

• create sexual, nude or sexually suggestive content, or deepfakes meant to deceive;

• impersonate someone, or use content to defame, defraud or mislead;

• try to bypass our safety filters, watermarks, labels, limits or payments, or reverse engineer, scrape or overload the App;

• use the App for anything illegal, or for commercial purposes without our written permission.

We may refuse, hide or delete content and suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.

6. Your content and ours

You keep the rights you have in your photos. You give LOL Studio Inc. a limited licence to process them only to provide the App (making, storing and delivering your roasts, songs and videos) and to keep it safe.

Subject to these Terms you may use and share what you generate for personal, non-commercial purposes, with the label and watermark intact. The App, its characters, voices, designs and the Curtain Call name belong to LOL Studio Inc.

Your selfie is deleted after your roast (within 24 hours). Generated photos and videos are kept until you delete them (My Carols) or use Settings → Delete my data.

7. Reporting and takedown (48 hours)

Tap the flag on any roast, photo or video to report it. It is hidden right away and reviewed by a person within 48 hours.

If you appear in Curtain Call content without having agreed, or you believe content shows a minor or breaks these Terms, email [email protected] with a link or description. We remove qualifying content within 48 hours and may suspend the account that made it.

8. Purchases, shows and refunds

Paid features are sold as shows: consumable in-app purchases through the App Store or the Play Store (the full show, three shows, or just the roast). Prices are the store's, shown in the App before you buy. There are no subscriptions.

Shows and credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not refundable by us, except where the law requires otherwise. Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or the Play Store under their policies.

If a render you paid a credit for fails or is blocked by our safety checks, the credit is returned to your balance automatically.

Deleting your data removes unused shows and credits and cannot be undone; it does not refund store purchases.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that results will meet your expectations.

Roasts are comedy. Use judgement before you share: what is funny with friends may not be funny elsewhere.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LOL Studio Inc. and its directors, employees and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill or reputation, arising from your use of the App or content made with it.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $50.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using the App at any time and delete your data in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or put others at risk.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Alberta (sitting in Calgary) have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law of the place you live gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
